The Purple Network is for staff with hidden or visible disabilities, physical, neuro-diverse or mental health conditions and allies to work together to promote inclusion for everyone at CUH. The Purple network has co-produced our Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES) action plan.
Who can join?
Anyone who is interested in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and has the permission of their manager to attend meetings. If you would like to join or raise an issue for the group please contact the Purple Network committee.
You do not have to have a disability to be involved in the network, it is an opportunity for anyone with an interest in inclusion to come together as a united voice for our staff.

Objectives of the group
•Provide a means of raising disability work related issues collectively
•Provide an opportunity to meet with colleagues and allies to share ideas and network in a safe environment to promote inclusion
•To work in partnership with other staff networks to promote inclusion
•To assist managers to identify and remove barriers to improve the recruitment and retention of staff with hidden or visible disabilities and physical or mental health conditions
•To act as a critical friend to inform managers decision making in relation to managing disability in the workplace
•To consider and comment upon employment issues related to staff referred to the network by the EDI lead/workforce directorate
•To contribute to the development and implementation of the Trust’s disability equality action plan and overall diversity and inclusion strategy
