Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) has been working to help reduce the burden on local Emergency Departments by enhancing its response for people in acute mental health crisis.
This has included establishing temporary facilities for emergency mental health assessments, where there are no urgent physical health needs.
Please continue to refer patients who require urgent mental health attention to Liaison Psychiatry Services, CAMH or First Response Service (FRS) using the usual processes.
If you are supporting someone, who requires urgent mental health attention please contact:

Members of the public can continue to contact FRS via NHS 111 option 2.
For people who are referred to or who directly contact FRS, the FRS clinician will assess the patient over the phone and determine next steps. This could include support offered over the phone or video call. If a further face-to-face assessment is needed the team can arrange for a clinician to visit them at home or they can be assessed face-to-face at the new temporary facilities.
These facilities are not appropriate for patients requiring urgent medical investigation or treatment, or who are intoxicated.
