Out of hours
Please note that for any staff choosing not bring in their own food, from 20:00 the sole food outlet available is Costa, which is open 24-hours.
There are also vending machines in the food court, which are supported by M&S, with access to prepacked meals at any time.
Please note the following opening times for shops and food outlets in the concourse:
M&S – 06:30 – 20:00 Monday to Friday and 07:00 – 18:00 Saturday and Sunday
Spice of Life – 08:00 – 15:00 Monday to Friday
Costa coffee shop – Open 24 hrs
Costa pod – Open 7:30 to 14:00 Monday to Friday
Coffee Lab – Open 08:00-15:30 Monday to Friday
Sta’s at the Frank Lee – remains open for breakfast, lunch and dinner
Amigo Express (concourse and outpatients) – 09:00-15:00 Monday to Friday
Burger King – 10:00-18:00 Monday to Friday
Bodyshop – operating a click and collect service with details provided at the shop entrance
Stock Shop – closed during lockdown
Hairdressers – closed during lockdown
All outlets are now only accepting card payments.
Patient missed meals
- From 07:00 to 19:30 patient missed meals are ordered and collected from the patient catering team on level 1.
- From 19:30 to 07:00 patient missed meals are ordered via ext 246216 and are to be collected from the Costa outlet within 15 minutes of ordering.
Food provision for staff
With the changes we are seeing across the organisation we would like to confirm the arrangements in place to support our staff working in the emergency department (ED) and the red, amber and green wards.
ED, red and amber wards
We are currently providing additional hot food in the patient catering trolleys. This is based on known patient and staff numbers to ensure we are supplying the required amount of additional hot meals, and that food is available for staff once the patient food service has concluded. We are also supplying additional sandwiches to supplement the hot food provision.
We have now started to provide additional hot food in the patient catering trolleys in the same way as for the red and amber wards, to support staff working on green wards. Meal numbers are again based on known patient and staff numbers to ensure we supply the required amount of additional hot meals, and that food will be available for staff once the patient food service has concluded.
Emergency out of hours requests
Should staff working in the above areas have difficulty leaving their wards to access food, they can contact the shift facilities managers (SFM) via 07548 138636, ext. 216694 or bleep 156-0697, who will try and assist. The SFM have access to a limited number of sandwiches and will do all they can to support additional requests.
